Los Angeles Lakers are committed to improving this offseason. One part of the improvement could be bringing back some sort of continuity to the team.
It appears that the Lakers are electing to bring back one of their better players this season in big man Jordan Hill.
Following from The Sports News Sean Deveney.
The Lakers want to be active on the free-agent market, but considering the going rate for big men, front-office executives have told me the Lakers are leaning toward keeping Hill, unless they get some assurance they can land a star big man in free agency. Hill would still be a good deal at $9 million, and could be used then as a trade asset.
In 66 games this season, Hill has had some solid numbers primarily starting at center for the Lakers. He’s had a career year scoring 12.6 points per game to go along with 8.2 rebounds per game starting the most games in his career to this point.
Jodan Hill is still relatively young only 27 years old so he will definetely be a main piece in what the Lakers look to do for next season. That means they might not go after a big name interior player like Marc Gasol or LaMarcus Aldridge in the offseason, especially when you consider Hill’s contract to be at $9 million for next year, that’s a pretty large number to commit to a guy you would plan on coming off the bench.
