So the Los Angeles Lakers are still waiting to get their brand new head coach in Luke Walton and they’re eagerly waiting for the NBA Draft so they can get Brandon Ingram and finally begin to rise like the Phoenix with a young, hungry squad.
But even with Ingram, they still have holes here and there, they’re not a Playoff calibre team yet. As of yesterday they did have a solid veteran in Brandon Bass but moving onto today, the chances of having him after this offseason have slimmed as Brandon Bass will opt out and head to free agency.
Bass would have earned $3.1 million next season if he had not opted out of his contract.
Bass, an 11-year veteran, would like to return to the Lakers if the team wants to bring him back, his agent said.
Bass averaged 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 20.3 minutes in the 66 games he played in last season for the Lakers.
As I said, the chances have slimmed but they can still bring him back, just for more than $3.1 Million. I think the Lakers should get him back, he’s solid and gets the job done while he’s on the floor. He isn’t flash, he just gets results.
