The Balls have continued their goal of reaching complete ubiquity. Lavar Ball’s family launched their new Facebook reality show, Ball in the Family, over the weekend. While the show will feature Lakers guard Lonzo Ball, the main focus of the program will be centered on the entire Ball clan. Lonzo’s brothers, LaMelo and Liangelo, look to have major roles in the show along with their mother, Tina. The reality show will follow all members of the family around as they continue to grow and promote the Big Baller Brand.
While in real life Lavar can be brusque and brazen, his show will look to show him much more subdued. The father of three boys, Lavar is tasked with managing egos and expectations — concepts that almost seem foreign to him. One of his sons has already made it to the league, but Lakers beat writer Tania Ganguli reported on Twitter his exploits in the NBA may not make it to air.
LaVar said it doesn't sound like the Lakers will allow the Facebook show to film Lonzo during camp and in the facility. He said that's fine.

For NBA fans hoping to get some behind the scenes look at the first overall pick’s development, this new may come as a major disappointment. However, it’s easy to see the Laker’s thinking with this decision. Ball is a young player who is going to need to focus all of his energy on making sure he is soaking up as much knowledge during camp as he can. Secondly, Lavar Ball is obviously a major part of the show and having him around less immediately decreases his impact as a distraction for the young Laker squad.
One of the major discussions being had Ball coming into the draft was how the team would handle his seemingly omnipresent father. It looks as if the Lakers have begun the process of keep Lavar and his antics at bay before the season even starts.
