Well they say where there’s smoke there’s fire, and that statement has proven to be true with the Sacramento Kings.
Just days ago Vlade Divac and Kings management denied the fact star center DeMarcus Cousins was being shopped around.
Clearly plans to hang onto Cousins have changed.
Sources: Lakers, Kings exchange framework of trade centered on DeMarcus Cousins today, discussions could intensify Thursday. Story soon.

According to Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski The Lakers would send the #2 overall pick in tomorrow night’s draft, Julius Randle, and Jordan Clarkson along with other draft assets. The Kings hold the #6 overall pick in the draft so they could possibly control the way this draft turns out in a big way.
The relationship between DeMarcus Cousins and George Karl soured in such a short amount of time clearly which lead up to where we are at now. Cousins will join a head coach in Byron Scott who will feed him the ball in the post and rightfully so as the Lakers are limited on go-to scoring options on the roster.
In his time in Cleveland, Byron Scott preached that he wanted a post up player and he gets the perfect player for that. Cousins has averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds in his career and a career high 24 points last season.
Since coming into the league Cousins has been labeled as a “problem child” which we’ve seen his immaturity at times, but his talent at the center position is worth going through the headaches.

The Lakers are clearly very close to landing the center, and Cousins reportedly wants to play for the Lakers. I’d say this deal is close to being done either later tonight or draft day we will see this done.
The Kings will look elsewhere to ensure they’re getting the best deal possible which the Boston Celtics could get involved with a ton of draft picks in their possession, but the Lakers trade package is clearly better for now and in the future.
