The Los Angeles Lakers will be doing whatever they can this summer to bring in a big name free agent. They have plans with LaMarcus Aldridge being their first target, just like Aldridge is with about six other teams.
Now it appears that the Lakers will be looking to also meet with a free agent that has been connected to them for quite some time now. They reportedly have set up a meeting with Cleveland Cavaliers free agent big man Kevin Love.
Sources: Lakers have spoken with reps for Kevin Love & a meeting this week is planned.

It is interesting that Kevin Love is taking a meeting with a team other than the Cleveland Cavaliers. Love has previously stated that he wants to return to the Cavs and he still can but getting a meeting with the Lakers is important to note because they can pitch him the opportunity to be the main guy once Kobe Bryant leaves.
Joining them would be weird though. If they want to have a starting frontline of Love and Julius Randle, there is no clear rim protector so there will be a need to sign a guy who can block some shots.
