Thanks to the increasingly digital nature of everyday life, music has become more global. As a result, more artists from overseas are able to enter the U.S. Hip-Hop market. In recent years, we’ve seen overseas acts such as Davido, Skepta, Bad Bunny, Ozuna and others become more popular in U.S. rap and R&B circles. This week, an overseas act by the name of Lacrim has attempted to enter the consciousness of U.S. rap consumers.
Lacrim has released a new self-titled project to kick off the new year. His latest project comes with over an hour of new music spread out over twenty tracks. The twenty track project includes features from notable acts such as Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg and French Montana. The album from Lacrim also includes guest appearances from overseas acts such as Cheb Mami and 3robi. To top it all off, the new project features an appearance from one of the most polarizing figures at the moment, Tekashi 6ix9ine.
