LA Clippers Beat Warriors 98-96 In Game 3; Clippers Lead Series 2-1
The Los Angeles Clippers imposed their will on both ends against the Golden State Warriors in their 98-96 Game 3 win. Blake Griffin posted a second straight 30-point game with 32 points (15-25 FG) and 8 rebounds, while DeAndre was busy getting 14 points, 22 rebounds and 5 blocks for the Clippers.
It was Griffin who sparked the separation Los Angeles would need in the third quarter to gain a commanding 18-point lead. Griffin exposed any and all match ups thrown at him to create offense for himself and others like J.J. Redick and Jamal Crawford out of the low post, while the Clipper defense remained sharp and active holding the streaky Warriors to just 6-31 from three.
Despite a 32-point fourth quarter by Golden State the Clippers were paced by Griffin and affirmed by Chris Paul (15 points, 10 assists) with jumpers and free throws in the final minutes of the game. Klay Thompson had a team-high 26 points for Golden State. Stephen Curry finished with 16 points and 15 assists.
Game 4 of this series will be on Sunday in Oakland.
