Kyrie Irving is hurt and everyone knows it. We’re all surprised at this point that he can even walk. He has left and right knee tendinitis because of the right sprain he’s had on his ankle, and it doesn’t look to good. Irving has always had some sort of injury bug around him, and this one comes at a pretty bad time for him and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
According to Chris Fedor of the Northeast Ohio Media Group:
“I’m going to go,” Irving said when asked about his availability Wednesday against Atlanta. “The last few days of treatment, rest and a combination of a lot of things I feel pretty good going into Wednesday’s game.”
“I would say just my spirit and mental confidence,” Irving said of what has changed since. “Just being able to feel both of my feet underneath me, especially as I’m shooting. It feels amazing. Just the confidence of getting extra work in and preparing with my teammates. I think think that’s the biggest thing I get out of it, you don’t want to be on the sideline at all, especially when you’re preparing for such a big stage like this. I want to be as close to 100 percent as I can be before Wednesday. Just keep doing the necessary things to do that.”
Kyrie Irving is a winner and competitor and he loves the game, so do you think he’s going to miss his first Conference Finals appearance, I doubt it. LeBron James, Irving and the Cavaliers will look forward to Wednesday in Atlanta where Game 1 against the much more steady Hawks will begin. The Hawks biggest advantage is their versatility in the middle with Milsap and Horford, and their combo of Teague and Korver could be trouble to handle. There is one thing that is stopping the Hawks from completely winning this series though. The greatest player in the world. LeBron James (vine kid voice).
