More news about Kyrie Irving has filled NBA sites than nearly every other topic combined this offseason. His desire to leave a perpetual championship team sent shockwaves through the kiddy pool that is the post free agency NBA. There is so little to talk about that this desired move has been the talking point for months. The newest nugget about this confusing situation comes from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
San Antonio could emerge as a more intriguing trade partner. The Spurs have interest in Irving, league sources say, and Irving’s willingness to commit to an extension with the Spurs makes for legitimate win-now deal possibilities for Cleveland. Without James beyond next season, though, the likes of LaMarcus Aldridge, Tony Parker and Danny Green hold no appeal.
A trade to the Spurs would make little sense for the Cavaliers as they would not get enough back to warrant a move but if it is interesting that the Spurs are attempting to inch closer to nabbing the scoring guard.
