Even though there were reports that Kyrie Irving wouldn’t start playing for the Cavs until early 2016, people still have the Cavs to breeze the regular season.
And I’ll give props to Mo Williams, he’s been decent, but even I know that Kyrie Irving gives the Cavs another dimension. And that dimension will come soon enough as The North East Ohio Media Group report that Kyrie Irving has been cleared for weight bearing activities.
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving was recently cleared for intensive weight-bearing activities, league sources informed Cleveland.com.
From here, the team’s training staff can intensify his leg-strengthening assignments as it sees fit, I’m told.
This is a significant hurdle Irving has cleared in his recovery. The three-time All-Star is progressing, but this new phase in his rehabilitation from fracturing his left kneecap in Game 1 of The Finals still doesn’t grant him freedom for on-court work.
The Cavs are doing fine without him, which means that Kyrie can take his time and get to 100%. But Kyrie can ‘see the light’ so to speak so maybe we will see him before the year ends? Who knows. Lets just hope that Williams and Matthew Dellavedova keep it up.
