The NBA Finals seems like so long ago, after the NBA draft and all the crazy days of free agency so far, you tend to forget that the Golden State Warriors won an NBA championship, not 2 months ago. Stephen Curry & cast beat the dismantled Cleveland Cavaliers in 6 games. No Kyrie, no Anderson, no Kevin Love, and David Blatt kept a tight 8 man rotation. The Cavaliers did not have the best chances. Now Kyrie Irving is coming out and saying they would have won if they were healthy.
According to none other than Kyrie Irving himself in Shaquille O’Neal’s The Big Podcast, he mentioned the championship run that came up short because of injury.
I’m more or less the voice of reason. I’m always gonna be a straight shooter with everyone and give them my honest opinion. Obviously, we had a great thing in Cleveland. We dealt with everything together. I felt like we would have definitely won an NBA championship if everyone was healthy. But almost doesn’t count.
Kyrie does have a point. If Love and Kyrie were to play the game would have changed. LeBron James would not have to carry the load for them. Opening up their offense. Hopefully with re-signing all their players, except J.R Smith and Tristan Thompson so far, they are poised to make another run. With a weak Eastern Conference, there’s no doubt the Finals are on Kyrie’s mind.
