Following the conclusion of Super Bowl 51, Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan will become the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. The 1st of many things the 49ers have to do is find a quarterback. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the 49ers have assembled a wishlist of sorts of potential quarterback targets this offseason.
#49ers starting QB could be in the building today. If Kyle Shanahan doesn’t get Kirk Cousins, his targets: Jimmy Garoppolo, then Matt Schaub

Kirk Cousins is probably unlikely because you would not only have to trade for him but also work out a long-term extension at the same time. Cousins is expected to be franchise tagged by the Redskins and are expected to seek out a boatload of draft picks for his services.
Garoppolo will be sitting on the sidelines during the Super Bowl but has the look of a franchise quarterback. Jimmy G went 2-0 in the starting role this season and played exceptionally well. Considering the 49ers have the 2nd overall pick, it may be a challenge to trade for him. There will be a lot of teams trying to deal for him.
Matt Schaub will be a free agent this offseason and spent time with Shanahan dating back to their days with the Texans. Regardless Schaub could be a bridge quarterback of sorts if the 49ers decide to draft someone.
