Anderson, the 24-year-old fourth-year player out of UCLA, has started in each of the Spurs’ 23 games this season, averaging career-high numbers across the board: 8.9 points, six rebounds, three assists, 1.2 steals and 0.8 blocks per game on 51.3 percent shooting.
Anderson has played a pivotal role for a Spurs team missing its superstar and will be sorely missed by the team during his absence.
It seems likely that the starter – in place of Anderson – will be Rudy Gay, who has been coming off the bench this year.
Anderson’s is the latest injury for the Spurs, who have had to cope without Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker. With Anderson and Leonard out, the Spurs are dangerously thin on the wing.
