Kurtis Blow has been hospitalized for heart surgery.
The legendary rapper revealed on Instagram Tuesday that he is preparing for an aortic artery repair procedure at UCLA Medical Center. The rapper shared that he developed hematoma during a recent trip to China. He stated,
“I am preparing for an aortic artery repair procedure tomorrow morning. The procedure will stabilize the artery from further damage caused by the hematoma I contacted from my recent travels to China. Dr Kwon is an incredible surgeon with hundreds of these procedures under his belt.”
Blow then asked for prayers and success for his surgery which is set to take place this morning.
“I trust that God will use him as a tool of success tomorrow. To the prayer warriors. Please keep me in prayer. I will see you all soon!!!! Encouraged!!! KB”
Back in 2016, the rapper went into cardiac arrest.
Kurtis Blow recently served as a speaker at the 2019 Music Cities Convention in China.
