After earning himself an Oscar Nomination alongside his wife for ‘The Big Sick’, Kumail Nanjiani is in talks to join Angelina Jolie to star in Marvel Studios’ “The Eternals” in what would be an unprecedented move.
As per usual, details about the movie and what characters Nanjiani and Jolie would play if chosen for the roles are being kept hidden. With Captain Marvel and Guardians Of The Galaxy films having space heavy plots, “The Eternals” will have a heavy cosmic, metaphysical story in which the cosmic beings known as the Celestials experimented on humans to create super-powered individuals known as the Eternals.
The film is set to have Chloe Zhao, direct, whose filmography credits include “The Rider” and “Songs My Brothers Taught Me,” was chosen to direct the film in September with the script being penned by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.
With the inevitability of Avengers: Endgame, it’s clear that Marvel is headed for a different direction after the 4th Avengers film.
