New York Knicks young star Kristaps Porzingis is the face of a nutritional bar company in Seattle called Zing Bars. From Marc Berman of the New York Post:
“Like most people these days, I need to eat right to be always on my game, whether on the court or off. I’m lucky to have a nutritionist to help me. For those who don’t, Zing Bars taste amazing so make healthy choices easy,” Porzingis said in a statement.
The release said Porzingis’ fanaticism on eating healthy stems from when he battled anemia at age 15. Endorsements should pour in this season if Porzingis keeps his pace – averaging 29.3 points per game – and the Knicks surprise with a winning season. He’s already an Adidas guy and his first endorsement occurred in his first month as a Knick with the energy drink – BodyArmor.
“Zing Bars is a small, but fast-growing company where I can get involved and really make a difference as we bring the message of higher performance through healthier snacking to consumers across the country,” Porzingis said in the press release.
Porzingis is off to a terrific start to the 2017-18 NBA season; through 10 games, he’s averaging career-best numbers in the following categories: points per game (30), rebounds per game (7.5), blocks per game (2.3), field goal percentage (51.2) and 3-point percentage (38.8).
