There’s nothing like a unicorn to make the 2017 NBA Rising Stars Challenge more interesting. Of course, the world was treated to the unicorn on Friday night as Kristaps Porzingis put on a show in New Orleans.
The New York Knicks big man was his usual self at the Rising Stars game, showcasing his multi-faceted game that makes him one of the best young prospects currently playing in the NBA.
Porzingis had 24 points and 10 rebounds, seemingly willing his way to the rim every time down the floor. Much of Porzingis’ scoring came via dunks but he did show his outside game as well, hitting one three in the game.
Kristaps’ efforts were much needed for the World Team as they outscored Team USA by 13 points when the Unicorn was on the court.
It was just another day in the career of young Porzingis, who has consistently shocked everyone since being drafted. He is currently averaging 18.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in just over 33 minutes for the Knicks, one of the sole bright spots in a dark season.
On Friday, Kristaps Porzingis shared his skills for a wider audience, once again proving his value to the Knicks moving forward.
