I said a couple of weeks ago that Jahlil Okafor will drop out of the top 5 in this year’s NBA Draft. And man is my prediction becoming gospel. D’Angelo Russell has gained interest from the Lakers, Emmanuel Mudiay has impressed with his workouts. And now Marc Stein has gotten word that European prospect Kristaps Porzingis is gaining interest from both Philadelphia and the Lakers who own the 3rd and 2nd pick respectively.
Now some people are looking at Porzingis and shout “Darko Milicic 2.0”. Stop that immediately, this kid is not Darko, Kristaps has a great track record and from the look of his workout video, I would not be surprised if he rises into the top 5.
Porzingis said that he wouldn’t mind being in New York, that was an outside possibility when he said that, his Draft Stock was slightly lower at the time. If he said that now, I don’t think he would even make it to the Knicks. This kid’s stock has gone from top 10 to top 5 in a space of a week. I suggest you people look him up and see for yourself instead of saying Darko 2.0 because there is a reason why he is soaring up the Draft boards.
