After not playing since February 25th in a 97-77 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the game, Humphries was limited to 12 minutes, 4 points, and 2 rebounds.
Humphries has been a very reliable backup to Nene and Marcin Gortat this season, and has averaged 8.1 points, and 6.7 rebounds in 21.3 minutes per game. Getting this production back is going to be a key for the Wizards as they look to make a run in the playoffs, and attempt to get their bench production back to where it once was.
Drew Gooden III is going to be the one Wizard who will suffer the most from the return, as he will likely see a significant reduction in minutes. Gooden has actually played relatively well in the absence of Humphries while averaging 5.1 points and 4 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per game this season. His numbers have been increasing as his time has increased, but will suffer when Humphries takes away a bulk of time from the rotation of forwards.
The return of Humphries is going to be a key to the Wizards as they will add a forward who brings a lot of hustle and effort to the Wizards off the bench. The bench has been noticeably unproductive in his absence, and will for sure do its job now that he will return. The Wizards will for sure enjoy his presence when Humphries returns vs Philadelphia.
