Dunn got injured on January 31 in the first minute of the Bulls’ game against the Brooklyn Nets. After an MRI that confirmed the injury, Dunn was set to be re-examined 2 weeks after. In mid-February, the Bulls released a medical update on Dunn’s recovery process setting a new re-evaluation between 4 to 6 weeks.

This is the second time Dunn has to deal with a sprained MCL in his right knee as in the 2018-19 season he missed 24 games at the start of the season.
Dunn was having a solid season for the Bulls starting on the bench at the start of the season to then get himself in the starting lineup. Dunn’s impact for the Bulls was seen in the defensive end as he averages 2.0 steals per game, second-best in the league. This season he has played in 51 games for the Bulls and averaged 7.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 24.9 minutes per game.
