Good things come to those who wait. Last week, fans waited patiently for a new track called “BQE” from Kota The Friend. Unfortunately, it never came. Seven days later, the gift has arrived.
“I know ‘BQE’ was supposed to drop last week. We had to push it back to get the track right and make sure it was able to release everywhere one the same day, but it drops [at] 12 a.m. tonight,” he tweeted.
It was well worth the wait. Together, Kota The Friend, Joey Bada$$ and Bas look like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on the track.
“I don’t be judgin’, I’m playin’ my part/Show the fake love and then play with your heart/Gotta learn to just play with the cards dealt,” Joey Bada$$ raps.
“For every day I made dollars, I made dollars/’Cause my Burroughs, he gave knowledge/Out of city move, y’all better pay homage,” Bas adds.
“BQE” serves as the teaser for Kota The Friend’s next project, which is reportedly finished. While we wait for the full project to drop, check out “BQE” featuring Bas and Joey Bada$$ above.
