A judge in Broward County has reportedly issued an arrest warrant for Bill “Kodak Black” Kapri after the musician failed a recent drug test.
The Florida native’s most recent legal troubles stem from a traffic stop that occurred in the Sunshine State last July. During the week of July 16, the chart-topping artist was reportedly driving a purple Dodge Durango when he was stopped by a Florida Highway Patrol officer. Initially, the stop was triggered by the officer’s claim that the tint on the car’s windows was “darker than the legal limit.” However, things got worse as the officers reportedly learned that Kodak Black was driving with an expired license, leading to a search of the car. From there, authorities claim to have found nearly $75,000 in cash and a bag that contained 31 tablets of oxycodone.
The July 2022 traffic stop led to Kodak Black’s arrest, but he was released shortly after bond was set at $75,000. The Florida native was granted release before standing trial on charges that is engaged in the distribution of oxycodone. As part of the release, he was ordered to take regular drug tests. On February 3, 2023, he was scheduled to appear for a drug test, but he failed to appear at the site. Five days later, Kodak Black submitted a drug test that determined he has fentanyl in his system. In response, an arrest warrant has been issued for the chart-topping rapper.
Kodak Black nor his attorney have issued a statement regarding the arrest warrant.
