Kodak Black has been in and out of jail since jumping on to the scene with his first single, “Skrt Skrt”. Most recently, he has been serving jail time for probation violations. For much time, Kodak was expected to be released from a South Florida jail in the fall. However, we are learning that he may get out a bit sooner. A Monday morning report from The Blast has indicated that Broward County native, Kodak Black, will be released from prison on August 18th 2018. Ryan Naumann reports, “The judge granted a motion filed by Kodak’s legal team which will give him an additional 30 days of time served, bringing the grand total to 120.” As a result, Kodak Black is expected to be back home on August 18th.
This news comes not long after charges of probation violations and child neglect were dropped. In only a matter of months, Kodak Black has gone from facing a year in prison to serving less than six months. While in jail, Kodak Black has reportedly done well from himself. Last month, Kodak Black earned his high school diploma and began working on an autobiography. These are all good signs for the rapper who is scheduled to be released next month without probation.
