The Boston Celtics are currently fighting their way through the Eastern Conference playoffs, led by Isaiah Thomas. It’s been a rocky playoff for the small guard out of Washington. Just one day before the Celtics started their first round series against the Chicago Bulls started, Thomas’ sister, Chyna, passed away after getting in a car accident. With everything going crazy for Thomas, Kobe Bryant helped stepped in to teach him a few things.
Isaiah Thomas said the connection with Bryant started after the second game against Chicago. Something Kobe helped Thomas with was the way he watched his film. The Black Mamba looked over Thomas’ tape and pointed out different things to him that Thomas didn’t notice himself.

The Boston guard had the best season of his career, and it has carried over to the playoffs. After averaging a tad under 29 points and six assists during the regular season, he has managed to put up about 25.6 points and 5.6 assists in the playoffs. For the current series against the Washington Wizards, Isaiah Thomas is averaging 29.5 points — including a 53 point game that would make Kobe Bryant proud — and 5.5 assists in four games.
Los Angeles Lakers fans may not be too happy about one of the best players from their storied franchise helping out their biggest rival. Celtics fans, however, should be happy as their best player is learning from a historically great player.
The relationship between Isaiah Thomas and Kobe Bryant could be a big help for the guard as he has a tough road ahead against John Wall and potentially Kyrie Irving.
