On a night where Kobe Bryant decided to sit out for the first time this season, you would expect the NBA’s best team to have NO problems against an off and on Lakers team, that sometimes struggles to score. In this case, it was the Lakers that had no problems with the Golden State Warriors, defeating them 115-105 despite a late Warriors run.
Ronnie Price led the charge of 7 Lakers scoring in double figures. Price had 17 points with 8 assists on the night and Wayne Ellington, who started in place of the resting Kobe Bryant, scored 12 points with 5 rebounds. Ed Davis and Wesley Johson scored 14 points each for the Lakers. Carlos Boozer led all Lakers scorers dropping 18 points as well as grabbing 9 rebounds off the bench. Nick “Swaggy P” Young joined Boozer off the bench and scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds and Jeremy Lin finished the Lakers bench trio in double digits, scoring 11 points while handing out 5 assists.
Golden State Warriors, who after a 21-2 start have now lost 2 times in their last 4 games, were led by Stephen Curry who scored 22 points. Steph Curry also had 6 assists on the night but was extremely sloppy, turning over the ball 7 times. Klay Thompson scored 18 points on the night and Festus Ezeli scored 10 points. David Lee came off the bench to score 12 points with Justin Holiday joining him off the bench to score 11 points.
Los Angeles Lakers are 9-19. Golden State Warriors are 23-4.
