Kobe Bryant has been all over the place in terms of his decision on when to end his career and he has every right to. For someone who has been invested in their passion and career as the Black Mamba is, it’s going to be hard to leave it. He’s created such a habit of practise and success for himself that retirement will be boring for him. It happens all the time. It’s the exact reason why we’ve heard all the possibilites in terms of his retirement. He’s went from retiring next year, to 2-years from now, to playing in Barcelona and now finally to Italy and China. According to a Q&A with Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports:
Q: After growing up in Italy and spending time in China, could you see yourself ending your career playing at either place?
Kobe: “I can see myself doing that. I can see myself doing a lot of stuff. That’s a whole other question. I will make some decisions when I decide to hang it up.”
We’ll probably continue to hear even more speculation as to how one of the greatest players ever will be retiring. It will be a sad day for a lot of people in the NBA when Kobe retires. Personally, he’s what got me to play basketball. My first year of NBA basketball was the year that Kobe Bryant scored 81 points, leaving me in shock, against my home-town team. Despite all this, his game mean’t something to me, and now it will be gone very soon.
