This season is looking interesting already, some teams are surprising, some teams are dissapointing, some teams are doing what we expected them to do. The Los Angeles Lakers are in that latter group unfortunately. But hey! They got their first win last night! Over the now 0-6 Brooklyn Nets, small mercies I guess.
Even though the NBA season is provided great entertainment, we are still intrigued by what will happen after the 2015-16 season. Where will KD go? How will the revised salary cap change teams? Will Kobe retire, stay or leave? That last question is answered once again by Kobe Bryant as he simply says “I’m a Laker for life”.
“I’ve said it so many times. I’m here, I’m a Laker for life,” Bryant said Friday night after his team’s 104-98 win over the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center. “I’m not playing anywhere else, no matter what. It’s just not going to happen. I bleed purple and gold, and that’s just how it’s going to be.“
Now we still get very swept whenever Phil Jackson talks, and as we know, he thinks Kobe might leave the Lakers. Kobe shuts that down too.
Said Bryant on Friday: “That’s Phil baiting you [members of the media] like he always does. He’s a master at it.“
I think Kobe will stay another year at LA, he won’t leave, the Lakers will ask him to do what Kevin Garnett is doing now. And in some ways Kobe is already doing that with D’Angelo Russell, so there you go Kobe! Getting a head start.
