Recently retired Kobe Bryant recently appeared on Stephen A. Smith’s ESPN radio show. He told Smith that he would be willing to offer consultation to the Jeanie Buss and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers’ front office. Transcribed by Ryan Ward of Lakers Nation:
I’m always around behind the scenes for Jeanie, Jimmy, and the entire Buss family if they need assistance or if it be to reach out or call for advice and things of that nature,” Bryant told Smith. “Now, being front and center about it, it’s not something that is really my cup of tea. I’d rather be behind the scenes and focus on the content I’m creating because that’s where my passion truly lies, but the Buss family knows that I’m always a phone call away.”
Bryant spent the entirety of his 20-year NBA career with the Lakers. As a Laker, Bryant won five championships, two Finals MVP awards, one regular season MVP award, and two scoring titles. He was named to 18 All-Star Teams, 15 All-NBA Teams (including 11 First Team selections), and twelve All-Defensive Teams (including nine First Team selections).
