When the Los Angeles Lakers took on the New Orleans Pelicans, the Lakers star, Kobe Bryant, returned to the team and was coming off some ‘rest’.
The talks about a Kobe Bryant ‘shutdown’ was further supported by evidence during last night’s game after this dunk attempt from Kobe.
Looks like Bryant was turning the clock back a little bit, blowing by Dante Cunningham for the easy 2-hand slam.
Little did anyone know, that dunk caused Bryant to injure his right shoulder.
Bryant would return to the game and further add to his legacy with five minutes remaining and the Lakers down 13, Kobe returned and played left-handed. He attempted a couple classic, Kobe, turnaround jumpers, making his first and missing the second.
Mind you, left-handed. Kobe is ambidextrous but he primarily shoots right handed.
He’s been in the league longer than just about anyone else, his team is in the bottom of the standings and he has no real reason to be out there competing hurt, besides the fact that it is Kobe Bryant and he will do all he can for his team, no matter the situation. Further shown by his comments after the game.
Kobe: “I’ve played with a torn labrum, so I’m not too concerned.“ Says it’s too early to get worried about this being a long term injury.

Kobe: “Stretching, ice bath tonight when we get to San Antonio, do my strength training in the morning. Go about my normal routine.“

Byron on Kobe: "He's being examined by the doctors right now. It's a sore right shoulder. He'll have an MRI tomorrow."

It looked like it was more than just a ‘sore shoulder’ but we will know more after the MRI results come out. You have to respect Kobe for this.
