Kobe Bryant has done well staying away from basketball. I remember a couple of years ago when none of us could see Kobe doing anything other than playing basketball. But because he’s been injured for Lord knows how long, we have all passed the mourning stage before Kobe even retires. This is probably because some of you want him to hang it up already.
But. Good on Kobe, he has stuck to staying healthy and is keeping himself occupied. For the past few days he has been in China where he is a demigod (seriously) and in an interview with Sina Sports (via CBS Sports), Kobe hopes to start basketball activities as soon as next month.
“It’s going very well, the strength of my shoulder is getting better and better by the day,” Bryant said. “Hopefully I’ll be shooting in a month, a month and a half, then I’ll feel like a fish being put back into water.“
Kobe is going to rack up $25 Million for next season. That is some prime dollar right there. The Lakers are beginning phase 2 of the rebuild which includes Julius Randle coming back, a Draft Pick coming in, (most likely Jahlil Okafor) and Jordan Clarkson continuing to grow after getting into the All-NBA Rookie 1st Team. All they need to make it a decent year is for Kobe to make it to the end of the season.
