Alright I’m starting to see an annoying trend happening. I have a feeling that after every other Laker game we’ll get stories either to the tune of Kobe Bryant potentially leaving, Kobe Bryant potentially staying for another year or Kobe Bryant potentially hanging them up. I can see it now, this is only the beginning.
So the Lakers got beat by the New York Knicks, Kobe airballed a layup and Melo called out Laker hecklers in the crowd. But before the game, Lakers head coach Byron Scott said that Kobe showed signs of him calling it a career after this season.
“That’s the first time that he hinted to me that this might be his last year,” Scott said Sunday before the Lakers faced the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
On Saturday, Bryant said: “If you asked me today, this would be my last year. But you never know. We’ll keep it open. Whatever happens, happens.“
Remember that old cliché thing were girls pick daisy petals saying ‘he loves me, he loves me not’? This is basically what Kobe is going to do all season long. “Retirement, retirement not”. I can understand why he’s swaying back and forth but can you not tell everyone, everytime you sway? It’s going to get old real quick and will kind of ruin the magic of your last (potential) hurrah.
