The Lakers superstar will provide analysis before and after Tuesday night’s game (Wednesday, Manila time), joining host Huang Shuo remotely from Los Angeles.
Bryant remains one of the most popular players in Asia and played for the US Olympic team in the Beijing Games in 2008. He’s famous enough in China that the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts Sculpture Museum hosted a sculpture of Bryant being bitten on his Achilles by a Black Mamba last summer. He also has almost 3.5 million followers on Weibo, a social media site, and the site posted Monday that he would be talking about the game and making an announcement about what’s coming this summer.
Bryant has established numerous ventures in China. Yet, his latest business venture seems unexpected namely because he has said in recent years he has no interest in broadcasting. Still, Bryant has become more engaging and friendly with reporters and fans in the past three years where he has offered a mix of unyielding honesty and humor on his social media account and throughout his interviews.
