Jeremy Lin’s future in New York is unclear after the Knicks traded for former PG Raymond Felton last night. The deal sees Felton, and another former Knick Kurt Thomas, return to Madison Square Garden in a sign-and-trade with the Portland Trailblazers who received Jared Jeffries and Dan Gadzuric from New York.
Felton’s acquisition means the Knicks now have him, and Jason Kidd, as their point guards leaving many to speculate whether the franchise was willing to let Jeremy Lin walk to the Rockets on the 3-year, $25 million deal offered to him. Up until now the Knicks had claimed they would match any offer on Lin up to “a billion dollars.”
New York officially received the offer sheet for Lin on Saturday night, meaning they have until 11:59 p.m. ET Tuesday to match it or let Lin go to the Rockets.
