Can two Smith’s be better than one? The Knicks will certainly be hoping so after inking J.R.’s younger brother, Chris Smith, to a contract yesterday. Details of the contract were not revealed but it is believed that the younger Smith is on a non-guaranteed deal, and likely to be sent down to the Knicks D-league affiliate, Erie BayHawks.
New York is loaded at the point guard position with Raymond Felton, Jason Kidd and Pablo Prigioni, meaning that minutes would be sparse for Smith if he stays on the roster.
