It’s official: The New York Knicks are worse than they have ever been.
After a 31-point beatdown by the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night, the Knicks have officially recorded their 60th loss this year, a franchise record for most losses in a season.
The Knicks were not expected to be a great team this season. However, nobody thought that with just 8 games remaining of the season, they would have won a mere 14 games.
All in all, this season has been a huge disappointment for Knicks fans. The talent they had at the beginning of the season has all but disappeared. J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert were shipped off to Cleveland. Amar’e Stoudemire was bought out and signed by Dallas.
Carmelo Anthony, franchise cornerstone, was shut down for the season after the All-Star break. You can’t blame New York for keeping Melo out, as they were just 10-42 at the All-Star break. Their season was already in shambles.
Still, the Knicks’ starting lineup of Shane Larkin, Langston Galloway, Andrea Bargnani, Lance Thomas, and Lou Amundson feels more like a D-League team than a pro team.
If you’re still a Knicks fan after this disaster of a season, you should be praying to the basketball Gods for the top pick in this year’s draft.
