Last season was a lost cause for the New York Knicks just about from the start of the season. One offseason signing that did look pretty solid was that of Quincy Acy. Acy, a veteran forward who plays bigger than his listed height of 6’7″, is a tough player that works hard on the glass and plays even harder when he gets time on the court.
Unfortunately for him, his time with the Knicks is now over as the team will elect to not extend a qualifying offer to Acy. Officially making him a free agent in the summer were big men dominate the market, diminishing Acy’s value.
Following from Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
The Knicks will not be extending a qualifying offer to forward Quincy Acy, which makes him an unrestricted free agent, source told Yahoo.

The Kings, Nuggets, Magic & Pelicans have expressed early interest in free agent forward Quincy Acy, a source said. Acy avg 5.9, 4.4 ’14-15.

For many, Acy’s most memorable moment of the season was when he got into an altercation with Washington Wizards guard John Wall on Christmas Day. He threw a kind-of punch at Wall and it got him suspended for a game.
For others, his most memorable moment might be a big dunk he had against the Milwaukee Bucks when he got a steal leading to a fastbreak and threw it down on Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Either way you remember him, Acy can bring a lot to many teams. Unfortuneately it appears either teams not in the playoff picture or fringe playoff teams are only interested in Acy’s services. He has a lot to offer so someone will hopefully give this hardworking forward a legit chance.
