Jeff Hornacek had recently interviewed for the position of New York Knicks head coach just a couple of months after being fired by the Phoenix Suns. Hornacek had an up and down tenure with the Suns seeing some success, surprising some people and finally being the coach of a team that seemingly just gave up on him.
Now it appears that Hornacek, who has a 101-112 career record, will be getting the job with the New York Knicks as their next head coach.

UPDATE (6/1/16):
Jeff Hornacek and the Knicks are finalizing a three-year deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical on Yahoo! Sports. Interestingly enough, Hornacek’s deal, which still could include some options, coincides with the remaining life on the deal of Team President Phil Jackson. So it looks like there could be some big changes in the summer of 2019 for the Knicks.
Jeff Hornacek has reached agreement on a three-year contract to coach the New York Knicks, league sources told The Vertical.
A news conference is expected later this week.
Knicks president Phil Jackson met with Hornacek twice, choosing him over a finalist pool that included David Blatt, Frank Vogel and interim coach Kurt Rambis. Hornacek represents a departure from Jackson’s stated intention of running his famed triangle offense as New York’s primary system.
