Golden State Warriors All-Star guard Klay Thompson is often seen as the ‘Robin’ to fellow Warriors All-Star guard Stephen Curry’s ‘Batman’. The duo is quite possibly the best backcourt in the NBA and will one day go down as the best shooting backcourt in NBA history.
The duo led the Warriors to the NBA Championship last season and both are under contract with the Warriors for a couple of more seasons but there was a time when Thompson was almost traded away. Thankfully for Warriors fans, he didn’t go and he has one specific reason why he didn’t feel like departing.

Klay Thompson on if he would ever want to branch out, pk-callout his own team: "Nah. Winning is too much fun." https://t.co/Ob7a3jhXdf

Still, Thompson is 25, an All-Star and an NBA champion, with another ring very much within reach. Could he imagine himself wanting to go elsewhere and see what he could accomplish on his own?
“Winning is so much fun, man,” Thompson said. “It’s one thing to put up numbers and be the top guy on a team and it’s another thing to sacrifice and be on the best team in the NBA. I’ll take the latter every time. We have a lot of guys in this locker room who could be franchise players for other teams. That doesn’t matter. At the end of the day people are going to remember championships. That’s what it’s all about.”
Last year, Thompson and the Warriors came to a contract agreement and with Klay locked in place and the underpaid Stephen Curry set up for a big payday, the Dubs will have a dominant backcourt for years to come.
As long as both of these players love winning and continue to do it, don’t expect either to leave the bay area anytime soon.
