Who’s ready for some early Monday morning trade rumors? The Golden State Warriors are reportedly making Klay Thompson available in trade talks, this coming from former NBA player Brian Scalabrine:
"I heard this weekend that Klay Thompson may be available, I heard that rumor going around involved w/ a team that wears green" @Scalabrine
— SiriusXM NBA Radio (@SiriusXMNBA) November 14, 2016
I’m going to take this with an enormous grain of salt. Scalabrine is probably well-networked with the Celtics considering he was a fan favorite there for years. However, he is not a reporter and this rumor is coming out of nowhere.
This is not to mention that the Boston Celtics have been a subject of more trade rumors than anyone can count, with few coming to fruition.
This one sounds intriguing, of course. According to Jeff Clark of Celtics Blog, the trade in question would involve the following:
Sounds like the framework of the deal is a 3 team deal with the Sixers getting involved. Noel and Crowder would go to Golden State, Klay Thompson would go to Boston, and picks would go to Philly.
The Warriors have struggled with their interior defense. But Klay Thompson is a massive part of that team. He is their best perimeter defender and he is back to making shot after shot on the other end. I don’t see a scenario in which the Warriors trade him, especially this early in the season.
Brian Scalabrine backtracked from his statement on Sirius XM. He later went on to tweet about where he got the rumor from. He got duped by a ‘clickbait’ rumor farm site that just creates fake trade scenarios.
Btw it's not my rumor or my sources. It's just something I read over the week that I thought was interesting.
