From social media to the real world, it seems everyone has something to say about the state of dating in the 2020s. As the conversation rolls on, Kirko Bangz has decided to offer his two cents on the matter.
The Texas native’s latest single, “Way Too Soft,” is as much of an added comment in a timely conversation as it is a new track with a memorable melody. Backed by the mellow, laid-back soundscape that powered his earliest hits, Kirko Bangz aims at men “podcasting about these girls” and those who kiss and tell after being involved with prominent women.
“People have a lot to say about how dating works today—what people should or shouldn’t do, what they expect, and who’s in the right or wrong,” Kirko Bangz said. “This song is about putting those opinions out there and letting the conversation happen.”
“Way Too Soft” adds another layer to Kirko Bangz’s artistry. Within the past four months, he’s offered social commentary in the form of the boxing-themed “AmeriCon” video, a defiant anthem called “Deep Inside,” and now, “Way Too Soft.” Nearly 15 years have passed since he jumped on to the scene with “What Yo Name Iz?” and “Drank In My Cup,” but Kirko Bangz is still finding new ways to reinvent himself with tracks like “Way Too Soft” and N$O vlog series.
