Deadline reports the film is being produced by former Sony executive DeVon Franklin through his Franklin Entertainment banner. DeVon Franklin serves as an executive producer through his label Fo Yo Soul Entertainment.
Kirk Franklin’s rise to fame, influence on Gospel music and the struggles that come with life and a Hollywood career to all be depicted in the currently unnamed film. Franklin enlists the talents of Brian Ivie to write the film.
Both Kirk Franklin and DeVon Franklin create faith-based art for religious and mainstream consumption. Kirk Franklin recently scored Best Gospel Performance/Song during the 2019 Grammy awards for Never Alone with Tori Kelly.
