Is this the last year fans see Kirk Cousins in a Redskins jersey?
Cousins and the Washington Redskins have been trying to come to terms on a long-term deal but haven’t had any luck. The deadline to sign a new contract is July 17, at 4 p.m. ET. The belief around the league is that a deal won’t get done.
Barring the unforeseen, there’s a strong indication #Redskins QB Kirk Cousins will play his tag out, sources say. Both sides are OK with it.

Don’t worry though, Cousins is still getting paid. The Redskins franchise tagged their star QB, paying him $23.94 million for ’17. After next season, Cousins will have racked up a combined $43.89 million over two seasons. That’s like NBA contract $$!!
Don’t be TOO surprised if a deal happens between now and Monday though, some think both sides will finally come to an agreement.
I’ve got two “sources” that tell me Kirk Cousins & the Redskins will get a deal done by July 17th:… https://t.co/jIKrHm4LfT

Meanwhile, others have no idea what’s going on and are reporting the obvious.

If a deal doesn’t get done, things will get very interesting next offseason. The Redskins can franchise tag Cousins again or watch him walk in free agency. Either way, the dude is going to get paid.
To all the Redskins fans out there, what would you like to see happen?
The clock is ticking.
