Barack Obama has signed a deal with Netflix, but he is set to appear on an upcoming CBS Studios project. Well, the former President won’t appear in person on the upcoming CBS Studios project, but his likeness will certainly be used. Actor Kingsley Ben-Adir has been tapped to play the Hawaiian native in the upcoming CBS Studios series based on James Comey’s A Higher Loyalty. Ben-Adir has appeared on The OA and Peaky Blinders. He also appeared in the newly released Disney+ series, Noelle.
Previously, Jeff Daniels was announced as the lead, James Comey. Meanwhile, Brendan Gleeson will play the role of Donald Trump. Peter Coyote, Holly Hunter, Spotlight’s Steve Zissis, HBO’s Brian d’Arcy James and Netflix’s Shawn Doyle will also appear in the series.
The miniseries will be directed by Gemini Man’s Billy Ray. As of now, CBS has not indicated when the series will air or where it will be shown. Initial reports suggest that the show will either end up on Showtime or CBS All Access. More details will be reported as they become available.
