When I was looking for stories today and I came across this, I literally said out loud ‘You’re pulling my leg’. I was saying to myself ‘They can’t be serious’.
Why the Sacramento Kings are wasting time with this I’ll never know. They’re quickly becoming as bad as the Philadelphia 76ers in terms of dumb decisions and questionable moves. Now even though John Calipari re-signed with the University of Kentucky AND declined a 8-Year, $60+ Million offer from the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Kings still probed the future Hall Of Fame coach.
Calipari has been communicating with owner Vivek Ranadive and other members of the Kings’ ownership group in recent weeks, league sources said. Calipari has listened to scenarios with which the Kings could offer him complete control of the franchise’s fledgling basketball operations to go along with coaching, league sources said.
The courtship of Calipari could become one more dramatic turn of events for the Kings, who have struggled under Ranadive to set forth on a direction and stay the course. Around the NBA, senior league officials and confidants of Ranadive have pleaded with him to stop these sharp changes in direction, sources said.
As one league official familiar with Ranadive’s mindset told Yahoo Sports, “He’s trying to find a magic button to push that’ll fix everything.“
This is all smelling like Ranadive being another mad owner that just loves to throw money at the problem. You hired George Karl not knowing that he didn’t want to deal with DeMarcus Cousins, you should’ve known that.
And now. Cal has taken to Twitter to expose the delusional owner. You’re going to love this.
For the 100th time, I have the best basketball coaching position in the world. I am not looking for any other coaching position.

Since he bought the team, @Vivek and I have talked on and off about @boogiecousins.

At no time has @Vivek offered me a job. I WILL BE AT KENTUCKY.

Vivek Ranadive. You sir are a joke, you are single-handedly blowing up an NBA franchise, you need to sort yourself out quick. Because this early summer has been dominated by your fledgling franchise and it’s so sad. I hope DeMarcus leaves, he’s too great for this grade A bull.
