UPDATE: DeMarcus Cousins’ Agent: Kings Assured Us Cousins Won’t Be Traded

The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday, and NBA fans are – as always – hoping it will be a lively one. A superstar being traded would indeed make it a lively one. Like, say, DeMarcus Cousins.

Sacramento has been engaging in trade talks on All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins in recent days, league sources tell @TheVertical.

UPDATE (02/19/2017, 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time): The Kings have been discussing a trade centered around superstar big man DeMarcus Cousins with the New Orleans Pelicans, reports Adrian Wojnarowski:

Kings have had recent discussions with New Orleans on Cousins, sources tell @TheVertical. Sac still debating Cousins’ future internally.

Cousins could team up with Anthony Davis, perhaps the only big man in the world who is better than him, in New Orleans.

UPDATE (02/19/2017, 6:07 p.m. Eastern Time): Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders reports that talks between the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans have been centered around trading DeMarcus Cousins for Buddy Hield and multiple first-round draft picks:

Justin Verrier of ESPN reports that the Pelicans also reached out to the Indiana Pacers about acquiring Paul George, but the Cousins discussions have progressed further:

UPDATE (02/19/2017, 6:26 p.m. Eastern Time): ESPN’s Justin Verrier reports that no player, aside from Anthony Davis, is off the table in these talks:

The Pelicans have made virtually everyone available, including Buddy Hield, to pair Anthony Davis with a fellow All-Star, sources said.
