Washington Wizards restricted free agent Otto Porter hit the market this summer as quite possibly the best restricted free agent and a lot of teams believe they might be able to snag the young forward.
The Washington Wizards have big money tied up in John Wall, Bradley Beal and 2016 free agent signee Ian Mahinmi and adding another huge contract could bring them into some tax penalties. They would be hard pressed to replace a young, athletic ‘three and D’ wingman at his level so they’ve made it know they will match his contract at any cost.
The cost could be a max contract as the Sacramento Kings have reportedly sent a deal to Otto Porter for four years worth approximately $106 million. It’s the max offer an opposing team can do for a player in his payment and experience tier, according to the NBA CBA.
Following comes from Chris B. Haynes and Marc Spears of ESPN.
