The Phoenix Suns have all but announced they’re drafting Deandre Ayton first overall in Thursday’s 2018 NBA Draft, and it’s looking like Marvin Bagley III is going to be the second pick for the Sacramento Kings.
According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givoney, the Kings are “not very high” on Luka Doncic and are targeting Bagley. Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News reported Monday that Bagley is a “near lock” to go to Sacramento second overall:
Am hearing that after Ayton at 1, Bagley is a near-lock at 2. After that, good luck with your guesses.

Earlier Monday, however, Sam Amick of USA Today reported that the Kings were still considering drafting Michael Porter Jr. with the No. 2 pick:
The Kings are definitely still weighing it… https://t.co/6zzdPheQQL

Standing at 6 feet, 11 inches and 235 pounds, Bagley dominated his lone season at Duke, averaging 21 points and 11.1 rebounds per game while shooting 61.4 percent from the floor and 39.7 percent from 3-point range.
Bagley was a monster offensively and on the glass in college; the question mark for him heading into the draft is his defense.
