One of the NBA’s most surprising teams will be without one of their core pieces for a few games. The Sacramento Kings will be without number two overall pick Marvin Bagley III for 10-14 days according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The team also confirmed the injury in a press release. The big man is dealing with a bone bruise in his left knee and will be reevaluated in two weeks.

Bagley suffered the injury in the Kings’ 130-125 loss to the Golden State Warriors. He only played five minutes before getting hurt and leaving the game.
The Kings have been one of the NBA’s pleasant surprises, and Marvin Bagley III has played a part in it. He is averaging 12.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game on 53.6 percent shooting off the bench. Even the “on the bench” thing is causing some tension on the team, as the Kings front office wants Bagley to start instead. It has reportedly gotten so heated that head coach Dave Joerger’s job was in jeopardy, but Sacramento has denied those reports.
