The Sacramento Kings are going to fire head coach George Karl. He’s fully aware of it. Several names have already been linked to the soon to be vacancy, including Tom Thibodeau, Jeff Van Gundy, and Scott Brooks. Other names mentioned have been Jeff Hornacek, Vinny Del Negro, and Patrick Ewing, according to the Sacramento Bee.
But Chris Mannix of The Vertical reports that Kevin McHale is now being strongly considered by the Kings.
Kevin McHale has gained strong traction within the Kings organization, league sources tell @TheVertical. Kings intrigued w/Cousins fit.

The Kings are making their All-Star center the priority when selecting the next head coach. DeMarcus Cousins and George Karl didn’t exactly hit it off, and by now it’s known that Cousins is in need of a particular kind of influence. The Kings must feel that McHale has the ability to be that.
McHale spent four full seasons as head coach of the Houston Rockets. He was fired after a 4-7 start to the 2015-16 season. McHale has a career coaching record of 232-185 and a 13-16 record in the postseason.
