The Milwaukee Bucks have been a revelation so far this season. Behind the superstar production of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee has surprised everyone with its feisty play, currently holding a 16-16 record.
And this may not even be their ceiling. The Bucks are without Khris Middleton who was arguably their best and most consistent performer last season. But it appears that Middleton is getting ready for a return from his torn hamstring.
According to Steve Aschburner of NBA.com, Middleton could be back as soon as the All-Star Break. That would give the shooting guard ample time to shake off the rest and for the Bucks to get hot right before the playoffs.
“It’s possible. That’s if everything goes right, with no setbacks and a good, long stretch of practices. Still a long way to go but I’m working towards it,” Middleton said Saturday night, a couple hours shy of a new and presumably better year.
Last year, Middleton averaged 18.2 points per game, shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from three. He was the sole reliable spacer on a team desperately needing three-point shooting and spent every night guarding the opposing team’s best perimeter player.
Adding Middleton should be a seamless transition for the Bucks considering his great fit with the team. With the Bucks already being a tough team to handle, Middleton’s inclusion could take them to the next level. It’s probably unlikely that Milwaukee ends the season as a top-four seed. But with Khris Middleton, they will be a tough out in the first round and could be set for an upset.
